Nyko PerfectShot: Making Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles even better!

December 14th, 2007 Chris "Kramez" Kramer

Nyko PerfectShot box Chris from Nyko stopped by the Capcom Unity labs to show off Nyko’s latest cool peripheral, the PerfectShot. As you’ve undoubtedly discovered by this point, playing Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles with the Nintendo Zapper can be fun, but the overall design of the Zapper doesn’t really lend itself to true arcade-style lightgunning. Nyko’s answer is much more true to what you would expect a lightgun to look — and more importantly — feel like. Bonus: it’s only $15! Follow the jump to see your stalwart Unity team rocking the PerfectShot in the Capcom demo room. Read the rest of this entry »

Umbrella Corp. made the Forbes list for 2007

December 13th, 2007 Chris "Kramez" Kramer

Umbrella logoThe list of fictional companies, that is. Scrooge McDuck might have topped the chart — he does swim in a giant bank vault filled with gold coins, after all — but the nefarious Umbrella group placed smack dab in the middle of the list, beating out an alcoholic superhero, shotgun-toting rednecks and those sneaky red Lectroids. And those dudes are Evil PURE AND SIMPLE by way of the Eighth Dimension! Personally, I’m confident that after next year’s fiscal report that Umbrella will be able to move up a few spots and at least displace Hank Scorpio’s Globex or that jerk Wayne. Full list after the break! Read the rest of this entry »

Capcom rocks 1up.com’s Game of the Year 2007 Nominations

December 3rd, 2007 Chris "Kramez" Kramer

1up.com just spilled the beans on their categories and nominees for Game of the Year 2007, and we’re pleased as punch to see that there are several Capcom games included on their list.

We’re both amazed and excited to see Zack and Wiki on the 1up list for Game of the Year. Of course, we’re also realistic, seeing as how it’s a very long list and contains games like Bioshock and… well, other games, but Bioshock is on there, so I’m pretty sure I know right where that particular award is going: Ken Levine’s desk. And you know what? I’m alright with that.

If you’re not too busy now, might we suggest you follow the jump to 1up and vote for some of our fine, fine products? Danke! Remember: Guitar Hero, Call of Duty, Mario, Bioshock, etc. are all selling just fine, but Z-Dub could use some serious love!

Here’s how the award season is looking for Capcom at 1up:

Best Action Game:

  • Resident Evil 4 Wii edition

Best Adventure Game:

  • Zack & Wiki
  • Monster Hunter Freedom 2
  • Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations

Best Console Downloadable Game:

  • Super Puzzle Fighter II HD Remix

Game of the Year:

  • Zack & Wiki

This news was just confirmed internally, and I wanted people to know ASAP.

The Reviewer’s Guide goodness continues to flow. And if that wasn’t enough to entice your clicking finger, did you know Wesker was 38 years old, 138 cm (I think that’s approximately 23 feet), 84.5 kg, with O-type blood? No? Then this is news you cannot miss! Read NOW or cry yourself to sleep in ignorance.

Sorry, Resident Evil: Extinction does NOT have RE5 and DMC4 demos on the Blu-Ray disc

November 16th, 2007 Chris "Kramez" Kramer

Oops!

We’ve noticed this morning that there was some confusion in reporting about the upcoming Blu-Ray release of “Resident Evil: Extinction”. Some reports are saying that the disc will contain “two video game demos (for “Devil May Cry 4? and “Resident Evil 5).? This is unfortunately incorrect: the disc actually has hi-def trailers for both of those games, not actual playable code. Sorry for the confusion! The disc is still going to be pretty rad, so make sure you pick it up when it comes out on January 2!
