So the demo is out and available around the internets today. I gotta say, I spent a lot of time with this game on PS3 and 360, and if you’re a graphics nerd, this PC version is going to BLOW YOU AWAY.
On a good-but-not-amazing PC, with all the detail cranked in the benchmark mode, this thing was still rocking a solid 60fps. Every part of it just looks smoooooth and although it was already a quick game, overall it even plays a touch faster on PC.
The demo lets you challenge a boss immediately, or take a 10-minute run through one of the game’s gorgeous levels. It also has the popular benchmark mode so you can see how your rig stacks up. The full game offers a Turbo Mode (exactly what it sounds like), and a Dark Knight Mode that exploits PC powah to pack the screen with more enemies than you can shake a Red Queen at.

Devil May Cry 3D arrives today for your phone, available to anyone on Verizon. He may be spoiling demons’ days in miniature, but I think fans of the series will be amazed at the faithful translation of the DMC action to the small screen and the sheer amount of content.
The Rebellion sword and his trusty pistols Ebony and Ivory are both in effect, as well as various Devil Arms. If idle talk and a tiny screenshot don’t convince you, however, perhaps the relatively gigantic size of the game will leave you impressed: the whopping 1.3 megs (whopping for a mobile game), gets you 50 missions and 20 floors of rendered full 3D action in “Challenge Mode.”
That’s enough to put this well past “my flight was delayed and I need something to do” and into “Um… this is a real game!” with plenty to keep explorers, button-mashers, and combo-masters busy for a looong time.
Check it out on your Verizon new releases ASAP.

From what I’ve seen, this is going to be the best DMC on PC ever, plus it has even more stuff than the console versions. If you don’t trust my Capcom-paid opinions, we’ll put our money where my mouth is with the upcoming demo. See for yourself!
And yes, the demo includes the popular “Benchmark Mode” you’ll remember from the Lost Planet PC demo. If you feel the same way about your PC specs that George Will feels about baseball stats, this thing is like crack even apart from the game itself.

As previously discussed, Devil May Cry is about as rock-’n-roll as you can get in a video game series without including any actual rock-’n-roll. Recognizing this, Games Radar ran a super badass DMC4 contest for their readers, with the penultimate prize being this custom painted Peavey electric guitar. The Games Radar guys stopped by the Capcom labs today and brought in the final product to show us, which we are now showing you. Bad news is that the contest is already over — in fact, Games Radar will be letting the winner know tomorrow that they have a new guitar (with certificate of authenticity/awesomeness) coming their way. Gaze upon these pictures in sorrow, as you are most likely not going to be getting this axe in the mail. I’m not getting it neither (oo! double negative!), but that didn’t stop me from going all Jesse from Slobberbone/The Drams*.
Evoking ancient Egyptian obelisks might seem over the top for a videogame award, but you won’t think so after you actually see the Devil May Cry 4 trailer that just won this beauty from game trailer-experts, Gametrailers.com.
DMC4 has been out for a while now, but if you somehow missed this, you owe it to yourself to see the award-winning madness. Watch it with someone you love (here). Then buy this game already.
There are times in DMC4 where the urge to hurl your controller directly through your TV is a nigh irresistible urge. Trying to Devil Bringer your way across the moving grapple points beneath the pointy ceiling in Mission 3. Breaking through the final boss’ shield, only to have him run away and recharge the damned thing before you can hit him. Fighting the stupid lightning-powered demon as it teleports around the area. Gargh, I feel my hands cramping just thinking about some of these choice moments. Fortunately, IGN’s got your back, so if you’re late to the whole DMC4 party, do not despair.
Australian site PALGN teamed up with Capcom for a fun fan-film contest to promote DMC4, and the results are in.
All the vids are work-safe, but Devil May Cry is all about pouty shirtlessness, so be on guard for live-action versions of same. The embedded video above actually only got 2nd place, but it’s first in my heart. The actual first-place winner is here, and third place can be found here. Great stuff all around.
This week, he rips our recently released blockbuster, Devil May Cry 4, a new one. That brings the total of Capcom games he’s reviewed to two. Only having time to do 1 review a week, Yahtzee doesn’t get to review a lot of games. This means that he harbors secret feelings for us. What those feelings are, I’m not quite sure. I’m not even sure I want to know…

Devil May Cry as a series has always been known to be hair-pullingly difficult. Especially 3, which caused so much hair loss to the general population that we had to create a much less baldness-inducing, controller-destroying Special Edition of 3 at the request of out-of-work barbers.
Well, in case the recently released Devil May Cry 4 is once again causing manually induced baldness, our friends at Prima Guides are here to help! Prima’s official Devil May Cry 4 strategy guide will help you master every boss fight. It still won’t help you get through those pesky devil-bringer grab jumps. You’ll still have to do those on your own. But the fights. And not getting lost on each level. It will help you.
Don’t believe me? Click on image above to check out a sample of the guide. This sample includes a walk-through of Mission 17, the Castle Town of Fortuna. There’s even a handy-dandy “Buy” button throughout the guide, so that you can quickly and easily purchase the full version right there!
The Producer of Devil May Cry 4, Hiroyuki Kobayashi has received a prestigious lifetime achievement award from France’s leading videogames retailer Micromania at its annual awards ceremony held at La Cigale, in Paris. The award recognised Kobayashi-san’s contribution to the videogame industry over many years through titles such as Resident Evil, Dino Crisis and of course Devil May Cry.
Pictured above is Kobayashi-san cold lamping back at his hotel, doing what you do when you win lifetime achievement awards: cradle them.
