We’ve started a couple of “official” groups on Facebook (Which by now, everyone and their grandmother’s cousin should have an account on). Next time you’re on Facebook, be sure to also drop by and show your support for Capcom and Bionic Commando by becoming a fan of the groups on Facebook!
Becoming a fan is easy. You can either click on the links above, or search for either Capcom and Bionic Commando after logging into Facebook. While you’ll get various results for them, the one you’re looking for is of the type “Game” and should have “Become a Fan” as an available option (As opposed to “Join Group” for the others). After becoming a fan, you’ll by default receive notices on any updates we make in regards to the group, making it easy for you to keep up on the latest Capcom and Bionic Commando news.
Be sure to share the fandom with your friends on Facebook as well. The more the merrier!

IGN’s Jeff Haynes took a swing at reviewing DMC4, giving the game a fair shake and a solid video review. Jeff told me last week that he has already finished the game five times on two different systems, which is nuts, considering how crazy-hard the secret difficulty levels are. Watch his work above, then follow the link to read some actual words, if you’re into the old-school, y’know, txt approach.

Lately, we’ve been hearing a lot about this whole “Facebook” thing. Evidently, it’s sorta like the Friendster of MySpace, or something. Plus Napster, with a dash of Ask Jeeves. Irregardless (<– always surprised that is a real word), we’ve finally given you something to do on Facebook other than stalk ex-girlfriends and/or beg them for a job/snu-snu/both. Presenting the first case file of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney in convenient Flash-y, Facebook app-y flavor. Sharp-eyed internetz afficiandos will recognize this as the next evolution of the Flash demo we presented here a few weeks ago. Commence to spamming friends, acquaintances, college chums, guild mates, band members, meter maids, made-up profiles, celebrity impersonators, Furries and what/whoever else you link to. Get the word out, legal fans!

Amerika-Mura in Osaka is one of those truly uniquely Japanese locales that most gamers/anime fans/n3rrrdz assume makes up 90% of the island nation of Japan (the other 10% split equally between ninjas, robots that turn into other things and giant rubbery monsters). Gwen Stefani might have taught a nation of teenaged white girls about Harajuku, but those chicks are posers compared to the hardcore rock fashionistas that cruise this Osaka hotspot. Read on for more, with some great photos I took on my trip. Read the rest of this entry »

On the heels of our last batch of randomness, here’s some more stuff cluttering the place up that I thought people might get kick out of:
A “threadless”-style Bionic Commando tee that features our hero doing what he loves best–leaping from a tall building. Probably he’s about to dramatically grapple his way to somewhere awesome (or perhaps the disappointments of his post-apocalyptic lifestyle have finally caught up with him and these are his last moments).
Totally sweet Saturday Night Slammasters water bottle. It may have been bad 90s music addling my brain, but I thought Slammasters was really fun. Later in life I had a chance to play against the guys that won the US national Slammasters championships (yes, Capcom had a national tournament for Slammasters, for no readily apparent reason). They squished me like a bug, but I can still enjoy this water bottle.
Capcom Fighting Jam fan. The Japanese text and the fact that the western market doesn’t seem as into fanning themselves generally (it’s called air-conditioning technology, and the rest of the world should look into it) suggests this was a Capcom Japan promo item only.
My trusty Capcom mug. Usually filled with our special blend of grade-D Capcom Coffee, the mug today contains Harvey Birdman, who has his own, tinier coffee mug.
And, to end on a substantially more baffling note, we have a what appears to be a Mega Man radio. When the promo product’s initial design was deemed “awesome, but not awesome enough” by our exacting Marketing department, the developer went back to the drawing board and produced exactly the same item, only this time with suction-cup feet. And the rest, my friends, is history.

In our Western Capcom offices, we are often asked for a status update on the possibilities of Monster Hunter Frontier (an online PC multiplayer version of our popular Monster Hunter series) coming to our territories and to this point, we’ve been somewhat vague in our answers.
So it’s not surprising that in our Ask Capcom forums, we received more passionate requests for information from a fan. Given that I’m sure there are others who also want this information, I thought a blog post might be appropriate.
My response follows:

Manga magnates Shonen Jump held their annual Jump Festival at the Makuhari Messe convention center just outside of Tokyo, on December 22nd and 23rd. As far as I can determine, few, if any, were caught actually jumping at the Jump Fest.
The relatively XBOX360-indifferent Japanese waited over 3 hours to play the 360 version of Devil May Cry 4, and the line to play the PS3 version was nearly 4 (count them! four!) hours long. As you can see pictured above, producer Kobayashi-san also took the stage to demonstrate, playing as both Nero and Dante.
The fest also had the first playable version of the new game Rosario + Vampire, which, in a shocking move, Capcom has decided isn’t quite right for release in the Western market. There were also predictably well-attended panels with voice actors and actress from the forthcoming Rosario + Vampire anime series. Attendees were also treated to the first showing of an exclusive trailer for Monster Hunter 2nd G.
