Behind-the-Scenes: Rebalancing Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (Part 11, T. Hawk Revisited!)

April 21st, 2008 Seth Killian

This is part eleven in an extended series of articles from David Sirlin, detailing the changes we’ve made to the rebalanced mode of the new Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix project. The previous articles can be found here.

This week we revisit the enigma wrapped inside a mystery that is T. Hawk, the world’s biggest Native American (who is apparently from Mexico). Hawk has spent a lot of time in the rebalancing lab, and Sirlin walks you through the dizzying highs and devastating lows of trying to get him juuuust right.

Part 11: The T.Hawk Chronicles

T.Hawk has been one of the hardest characters to balance (along with Fei Long and Honda). On the one hand, he has an extremely damaging command throw, a great Dragon Punch-type move, and an aerial dive. These moves could conspire to make him terrifying, so I understand why the original SF2 developers were so careful to keep him check. Hit the jump to get the full story…

Capcom Digital Day Blow Out!

March 13th, 2008 Chris Tou

Earlier this week we managed to turn our normally spacious lobby area into a place packed with a better ratio of Quality Fun Per Square Inch than Disneyland during our Capcom Digital Day. We invited members of the press and community to come and check out in person both the announced and unannounced new titles we have coming up this year. As the event title suggests, the focus was mostly on “digital” titles, downloadable titles to be released on XBLA, PSN, or PC, however, we still managed to sneak in a couple of full retail titles.

New Rocketmen Gameplay Vidz

January 31st, 2008 Seth Killian

There are a bunch of new Rocketmen videos malingering over at the new Capcom Digital site. You know the Rocketmen–chock full of zany bosses, and one *miiiiiillyon* bullets (probably a lot more than that, frankly).  Anyway if you’re tired of downloadable games that just look pretty but are over in about 15 minutes, you owe it to those XBL Points burning a hole in your pocket to check this game out.

Anyway the most recent Rocketmen screenshots brought you closer looks at the crazy character customization possibilities, a sneak peak at some of the game’s MANY boss battles, cut-scene hilarity, and the multiplayer bullet-flying madness that will fill your Rocketmen days and nights. The vids cover pretty much the same territory, only, you know, with video. We heard that kids these days are all into the moving pictures, so here you go.
