Epic Mike Patton Bionic Commando VO session. Or: Radd For a Day, Nathan For A Lifetime

February 14th, 2008 Chris "Kramez" Kramer

Mike Patton salutes youIn college, I had a short stint working concert security with StaffPro, aka “those dudes with the yellow jackets who throw you out of rock shows when you do stupid stuff.” My first gig was a Faith No More/Metallica show at Shoreline. AWESOME! I was getting paid to stand around and tell people not to be idiots while watching two amazing bands rip it up for a hometown crowd. I went on to see FNM many more times, as well as some of Mike Patton’s other bands, like Mr. Bungle. These days, Mike is doing a lot of VO (voice over) work, both for games and movies, as well as creating music that stretches across, past, over and through just about any boundary or style you could think of, then makes some up just for good measure.

Mike recently hooked up with some of the Bionic Commando team in San Francisco to record initial VO for BC, and the guys grabbed some shots. Gearoid (pronounced Ger-road, not like Metal Gear) has details on the session over on the official BC blog.

Mike and Simon Viklund from GRIN Mike preps his pipes “I’ve got a bionic arm? Really?”

Very cool. So did you get to meet Mike? I still listen to Epic. My Favorite song by them. Remember how the piano exploded at the end of that video? haha awesome.

So does everyone have off for V-day? haha
