Johnny Lee Chung, a graduate PhD student, has come up with some interesting applications for the Nintendo Wii Remote. One of his projects allows you to interact with your computer by waving your hands in the air (kinda like in the movie Minority Report). My favorite project he is working on is his “Head Tracking for Desktop VR Displays using the Wii Remote”, the video of which is posted above. I was very impressed after watching it and I hope that someone at Nintendo see’s it and hires the guy. Go to his website and check out his other projects.
