Sven, you are so on point. As much as I love the series, bringing Monster Hunter Frontier over to the U.S. is a wild risk that makes little sense.

But, if I could make one suggestion to Capcom PR and Marketing, it would be to show some love when marketing Monster Hunter games in the future. I can hardly remember any marketing for Freedom 2. I hope Monster Hunter Portable 2G gets a serious marketing push if it's brought over to the U.S.

The Ace Attorney series got a ton of attention by game press, magazines, and reviewers before it hit. I can hardly remember the same being done for Monster Hunter. It almost feels sadly doomed to struggle outside of Japan.

Regardless, I agree that strengthening the Monster Hunter brand is important before even considering bringing over a colossal project like Frontier over. Hopefully, Capcom will actually take some time to strengthen the brand, and hopefully gamers will respond in kind by adopting Monster Hunter into their lives.

*Oh, and in response to lubu. Bringing Final Fantasy XI over the U.S. was hardly a gamble since the series was already DEEPLY established in the U.S.

like you've stated there are many factors in bringing the MHF to the U.S.; on the other hand, how come Square Enix able to brought Final Fantasy XI to the U.S. successfully and let the FF fans enjoying the series they've been following up all these years. Today, there are so many korean fast food MMORPG with the cash shop spamming gaming industry in the U.S. We do need a new MMORPG like MHF. Geez, I better start taking JP language and move there to enjoy good games

Sven,

Hello. This is Kristi's husband. I need to get ahold of you but the email addresses she has for you do not seem to work. How can I get a hold of you without having my email on this comment?

Unfortunately, I have to agree that the PC market in north America and UK are more than flooded with MMORPG titles of this type, and introducing MH to a PC market that does not already have an established fan base would be a risky move.

However, what about the idea of porting MH Frontiers to another platform like Playstation 3? That platform is already populated with HUNGRY MH fans just itching to be catered to.

Speaking of hungry Monster Hunter fans.. I hope you guys realize that with the huge Christmas sales for PSP, and the maturing online functionality of the PSP, NOW WOULD BE THE TIME to bring that lovely Monster Hunter Portable 2G WITH online play to North America, and UK.. Stressing the urgency of online play.. Seriously.. Guys.. Please bring SOME SORT OF online Monster Hunter to English speaking fans. This is getting silly.
