Devil May Cry 4 goes mainstream. Sorta…
December 11th, 2007 Chris "Kramez" Kramer
Kobayashi-san, producer on Devil May Cry 4 (also the man behind the masterpiece that is RE4), came through the US in early October to meet with games media across this great nation of ours. In five days, Kobayashi and Gearoid (the only Irish Japanese translator I’ve ever met) positively stormed the US, spending two days in San Francisco, a day in LA and a day in NYC. Boy, were their arms tired. <- Boo! The upshot from this trail of tears tour that I set them upon has already been echoing around the intarnetz, but two hits from more “mainstream” sources popped up today.
If you are reading this than Stephen Totilo and N’Gai Croal are definitely two dudes with your dream job. Stephen runs games coverage at MTV.com, including the must-RSS Multiplayer blog. N’Gai rocks interactivity for Newsweek, and has set up a unique cross-collaborative blog called Level Up that should be similarly added to your reader.
On the DMC4 front, MTV touches on coolness, cheesecake and the Japanese game market (plus, some street Fighter IV, just because). Newsweek delves into the relationship between Dante and Nero, the MT Framework game engine and Kobayashi’s take on other DMC-ish games (hint: he doesn’t have one). Both articles are worth reading, so get to it already!

Top Secret’s famed voice gets a face! So you guys met that crazy guy, eh? He spoke a little of it in the latest podcast. Said it was exhausting. I sent a question through the podcast site asking about possibly getting those guys posting on the Capcom BBS USA to spark a bit more interest in Bionic Commando. The forums seem kind of slow right now… It’d be cool to get more hype for Bionic Commando.
Sorry for going off topic, I am all about Bionic Commando in this response to a DMC4 blog… haha :p
