Nothing says “swing-arm action” like a Volvo
December 5th, 2007 Chris "Kramez" Kramer
Because I am an American, I pretty much don’t bother with attempts to grok any other languages out there (exception: the slight smattering of Japanese I have picked up over the years, domo arigato very much). Why bother wracking my fat-saturated, TV-blasted thinkbox with different words when it’s much easier to just squish back into my overstuffed easy chair and wait for the rest of the world to learn our lingo by forced exposure to Bruce Willis movies, McDonalds menus and Windows? Ha ha, eat it, global cultures!
That being said, I often rely upon the internet tubes to provide me with make-good-wordings for the occasional barbaric tongue I’m forced to gaze at through the light glaze of Krispy Kreme ooze that can usually be found smeared across my face from hairline to triple chins. The downside is that Swedish does not appear to be one of those wacky languages that Bablefish handles, forcing me to Google my way through the wilds of the internets back alleys. Scary!
As a result, this posting on Swedish website/magazine/TV show Game Reactor, which links to some frickin’ sweet photos of a Bionic Commando-wrapped Volvo C30, remains largely mysterious. InterTran at TranExp.com (itself a worryingly-URLed website) can only tell me this much:
“Japp. Swede spelhuset Grinning ( as currently am working with Cinema Commando ) had together with the servile Volvo - lover Gunnar joke the Mobile kirrat a elbow grease pimpad Volvo for that slip about in wonder winter. Here is pictures they precise mailade ourselves.”
As much as I am interested in finding out how much elbow grease has been pimped by Gunnar the Volvo-lover (and I’m pretty sure that’s illegal, even in Sweden) , InterTrans really isn’t helping us much here. Go here to check out some more pics while we check in with the boys in Sweden to find just what the heck is really happening here. Is this part of some vast Swedish automotive/game design conspiracy? Does Gunnar really love Volvos and how often? Or did Ben Judd just need new wheels? Stay tuned!

“Yep. The Swedish game developer Grin(who’s currently working on Bionic Commando) has, together with the servile Volvo-lover Gunnar, made a very pimped out Volvo to cruise around in during the winter. Here are the pictures they just emailed us.”
There you go
I design vehicle wraps like this all the time were I work. This is a nice job, but I won’t be too humble here, as I could do better!
haha
They still did a superb job, no less. I only wish it was my car…
Nubbin: your challenge is to design a cool Capcom-themed wrap! Schwag and instant online fame awaits you.
Seriously? Email or PM me about that.
