Street Fighter IV: 2D? 3D? We’re not telling!
November 26th, 2007 Chris "Kramez" KramerLotsa rumors and conspiracy theories floating around the intarwebz regarding the Street Fighter IV trailer that we unveiled back in October. The single biggest topic of conversation surrounds the basic fundamental nature of the game which, at this point, Capcom has not revealed. Gametrailers has taken it upon themselves to delve mightily into this mystery, analyzing the teaser trailer with the sort of analytical power that, applied elsewhere, might cure cancer or solve Fermat’s Last Theorem. What shape will Street Fighter IV take? How will it look, play, feel, smell? Take heart, True Believers: some of these questions will be answered soon. Very, very soon, as a matter of fact. But not today. Psyche!
Bonus: See forum-frequenter Christian Svensson start off the video by wildly ducking the question altogether, fearful that a nearby PR handler might defenestrate him if he answered wrong. That’s some nice media training there, Sven!

A nice analysis. Until proven wrong, I personally stick to the belief that it will be similar to the Smash Brothers series; 2D style fighting rendered in a 3D world. I hope the ink brush styling finds it’s way into the final version in some form or other. Definitely a unique twist and a great way to add a new style to the fighting genre.
