Not sure where the team is at with new content (nothing announced that I know of), but this is definitely Okami, and not Okami 2. As for the Wii, IIRC it's the best-selling next-gen console, so, um, lots of people own one.

As for Clover, it's hard for me to imagine how they were taken advantage of. They were given an amazing opportunity to create unique games and did so. The games, while very innovative, didn't do very well commercially, so after several years and many titles, Capcom closed the studio (since they are in business to make money by making great games). Capcom of course owns the rights to these games (since they paid for every cent of their production costs), and are trying to expose more people to the legacy of creative work. I don't know any game designer that wouldn't want more people to have a chance to explore their game on a next-gen system with an interface that seems tailor-made to the gameplay.

Hey... uhm..
I hope this doesnt sound stupid, but is this Wii version going to be a copy or perhaps.. Okami 2?

And I was also wonderin.. How many people really OWN a Wii? I dont. Will it be possible to have Okami2 or w/e on PS2 or Gamecube, DS maybe even? You know, Older systems almost everyone has because they dont cost $300?

I justed to ask:

I know it will be difficult to improve/add to the game, but it would be worth it. I played the PS2 version, and am looking forward to the Wii one as well, despite already having beaten the game a few times! I hope it will play awesome, look awesome- and add at least some more content.

Adding more will probably entice over veteran players like myself much like the new RE4 enticed old players to buy the game again for the Wii for the new features.

Perhaps RE4 is not the best example for my point, since the game itself wasn't changed much, but expanding the game's audience by implementation of new features that will make the game more than a cult hit for new players will also please the veterans.

I hope my comments have been read and made a difference! So, please, add more content!

I'm not sure if I feel strong enough to recommend others to not buy it (since clover was disbanded and capcom is taking money by porting there excellent achievement)becuase the game is excellent and deserves lots of sales for the effort that went into it and to help Clover studio get a good rep. But for Capcom to disband a great division like Clover studio's and then blatantly try and profit off of there work is beyond sad to me. Doesn't everyone agree a studio like Clover was made for the WIi? It's a studio completely devoted to the creation of original and new titles which would greatly suit the Wii so I say bring them back. It's better than having sequel after sequel and leaving capcom to wait for a Wii 2 version of Okami.

I think the game is great and deserved alot of sales when it had the original developer intact but with them gone only Capcom see's the benefit even though they destroyed the great clover studio's. If only they had the decency to respect what clover had achieved rather than squeeze every penny they can from what Clover did and leave them out of the job.
