EDGE walks down memory lane with RE2
May 16th, 2008 Chris "Kramez" Kramer
RE2 is oddly under the radar for most folks. People tend to fondly remember the dogs crashing through the windows in RE1, Nemesis coming after you with a vengeance in RE3 and the overall general awesomeness of RE4. I really dug RE2 because so much of it happened outdoors and in a variety of buildings; after spending almost 2 years doing PR on the first game, the mansion from RE1 had started to feel a bit claustrophobic. I also found it interesting that neither Chris nor Jill returned from the first game, which was simultaneously disappointing and very Capcom. Edge Magazine in the UK also has fond memories of the game, check out their “Time Extend” feature on the game here.

RE2 under the radar? That’s funny, most people I talk to have played it even more than I have and cite it as their favorite RE game… :\
Rightfully so, it is a very good game (although my second-least played one in the series, after CODE: Veronica), and it ranks on my third favorite in the main series after RE4 and the first one. (And no, RE4 wasn’t my first, I just love the gameplay in it, not so much the story, though. ;])
