Street Fighter IV Figurines: Vote for your Favorites!
May 14th, 2008 Seth KillianSo we’re thinking about whipping up a new batch of SFIV figurines. We’re just dipping our toes in the water, and so won’t be making ALL of the characters right now, but we would like to make a few. If we’re not producing the whole cast, the question is which ones DO we make?
Obviously the new characters are cool, but Ryu, Chun, etc. are icons… Tough call. Anyway, rather than strapping on our thinking caps and then producing a bunch of stuff that nobody actually wants, we thought we’d ask you what you thought about it.
So, which ones are your favorites? Check out the poll on the right side of our blog and pick your top three!
Edit: As filthy Americans, we are using the filthy American names for the boss characters in the poll. For reference:
“M. Bison” = dictator with the hat.
“Balrog” = “what’s a kick?” Boxer
“Vega” = fancypants Spaniard with the claw.

Hmm… decisions decisions…
I chose Ryu, Chun Li & Crimson Viper.
It’d be great to see these in for reals life.
Where is Rufus?
Seriously a jelly belly action figure that speak when you squeeze him would be way cool.
Plus,
I demand Chibi-Blanka.
Rufus? Who is this Rufus of which you speak? Nobody at Capcom announced such a thing!
Internet rumors, I tell you. Rumors + elaborate hoaxes.
QUESTION:
Since this is the U.S. Blog. I assume M. Bison is the boss in the red suit, head of Shadaloo. Not the Spanish guy
w/ the claws.
Am i correct in assuming this? Or is it switched like in Japan?
The bison we’re referring to is the dude in the red suit that teleports around.
It’d be a dirty, but plausible, trick to rerelease a bunch of SF2 figures.
? No worries–these will be an all new creation. Even if everyone votes for the classic characters, they’ll be created from scratch in the SFIV style.
Oh yes, I can’t wait… I love figurines, and Capcom ones are even better… Street Fighter ones are even betterer. :3
I voted for Ryu, Chun-Li, and Guile personally… though I’d love to see all of ‘em, those three are basically the poster-fighters of the SF series, so…
Meh to whoever voted for the classic trio. Crimson Viper for me; bonus points if it’s by Kotobukiya.
A couple of problems here.
Number one the roster isn’t even final.
Number two is that of all the options offered there already are figurines available except for the new designs for SFIV.
Characters like Rose, Oro, Gem, Retsu and Goutetsu desirve some time in the limelight and would be a nice change to us collectors.
While the roster may or may not be final, we still need to start getting a jump start on the creations of the figurines due to the lead time needed to have them created (9 months minimum).
As with the other games, I’m sure more figurines will be made down the road, covering every character that are/will be in the game.
I urge you guys to ignore the majority here. History has proven time and time again that the majority isn’t always right. What I’m trying to say is, if you make figurines of Chun-Li, Ryu and Ken, the terrorists will win. Let’s be real, here. Everyone likes Chun-Li, Ryu and Ken. They’re in all the games, all the movies. They’re the de facto standard choice for basically anything Capcom does. If you guys sold boxers (do you?), Chun-Li, Ryu and Ken would be on them.
I picked M. Bison, Sagat and Zangief. I’m appalled that Zangief is so far down, and shocked that M. Bison isn’t at the top. Come on… who did Raoul Julia play in the awful movie?! Hint: NOT RYU. Screw the heros. Give us villain figurines. I know, I know. Chun-Li has the thighs, Ryu has the serious face >=o| and Ken has the flamey shoryukens, but Zangief would be terrifying as a detailed figurine, and Sagat & Bison would look way more badass than the Shotokan Bros. could ever hope to. Please… think of the villains. You’re Capcom. You don’t have to cater to the majority when you’re making merchandise. Do something ridiculous for once!
