A New Look at 1942: Joint Strike

April 22nd, 2008 Seth Killian

I may not like saying “shmups” but man do I love playing em. You monks have your Zen sand gardens, I have my endless geometric waves of bullets, badguys, and bosses. Our latest glorious entry into the world of digital downloads is 1942: Joint Strike, a lovingly reimagined take on the classic. Click here to see the new screens.

For fans of the original that have been waiting on this one, I have to say–it’s exactly what you were hoping it would be!

Hit the jump for the video trailer, which also just went up on Xbox Live Marketplace for your convenient at-home downloadification.

The beginning of that trailer reminds me of the BCR trailer. So awesome! Can’t wait until it releases. Yet another addiction :D

How dare you sir! The 1942 trailer is a completely original. Knowing the broadly “scum-sucking” nature of that Bionic Commando group, I wouldn’t put it past them to have invented a time-machine for the sole purpose of stealing their idea from the 1942 trailer and then denying it, instead of, you know, preventing WWII or something good like that.

lol! Seth… You crazies. I saw the original transform into the new, and I saw spiffy co-op features… Darned Ben Judd and his time machine.

Hey, do you know if trouble maker Ben himself will be at Captivate 08?

I believe Mr. Ben Judd will be in attendance at Captivate 08, provided his hovercraft is back from the shop in time. His presentations will mostly be putting the media in headlocks until they admit that his games are awesome. The games are so good they usually admit this in under 30 seconds, even before any noogies start.
