Some of the cool new single-player features of Lost Planet: COLONIES EDITION

March 21st, 2008 Chris "Kramez" Kramer

When we announced Lost Planet: COLONIES EDITION, much was made about all the groovy new multiplayer features that have been included for this 360/PC Platinum Hits version. We overlooked the similarly cool new single-player additions a tad, but IGN has caught this oversight and provided their own perspective on LP gaming for the single-minded. After the jump, we’ve embedded videos showing off Score Attack, Trial Battle and First Person view modes.

Off Limit: new hotness mode that unlocks for each stage you have beaten in single player. This is essentially Lost Planet Super Hyper Turbo; Wayne is running, hustling at high speed through the snow while overpowered weapons explode around you like a Michael Bay film. Also: unlimited ammo. W00t!

First Person view: Lost Planet not fps-y enough for you? Now it is! Score Attack: Lost Planet not arcade-y rewarding enough for you? Now it is! Keep yer combo chains linking for big points. Trial Battle: Lost Planet not boss-y enough for you? Now it is! Trial Battle launches you into a series of boss battles, pitting you against a somewhat-random selection of the big bads from the campaign.
